Readings: Basic Options
It was a strong morning. And, NQ was running without me. Staying flat for 3 days in a row. uhm… I saw a trend coming, however, I just couldn’t find my entry setup. Well, forget it. There are opportunities in the market day in and day out, but they are invisible to me now as I have not learned to recognize them. It takes a pretty long time and effort to build recognition plan and skills.
I received emails asking for information about futures trading. I have yet to have time to write a post on it. For the time being, I have a couple of bloggers who are day trading different futures products and posting their trades online. I will add more later.
- Edward from Forex and eMini Futures Trading. From what I have read, he is focusing on E-mini Russell 2000 futures trading. Nice trade recap.
- Boogster from Boogster.com. He is an active mini-sized Dow futures trader. He uses NYSE TICK in his trading frequently. (Man, I hope I have the trading account size like his…:) )
- Stéphane from The Chart Strategist. He is an experienced Futures trader, both index and commodities. He just left a comment at my blog. I am attracted by the way he trades futures. Check out his blog.
- John from The Essentials of Trading sent me a link to his work on futures trading education, The Essentials of Futures trading. Good job done. Check it out.
I did not waste my time in front of NQ screen. While waiting for the setup, I had almost completed the short course on Options trading from CBOE. Thanks MC from PinoyTrader. Now I have some basic ideas of how does options work. I am planning to look into some strategies and start trading in PaperMoney account to familiar with the trading mechanism. I have just talked to ThinkorSwim, I am pretty happy with what they are offering now. At least, I can papertrade as long as I would love to without any platform charge. Here are some links on basic Options trading
This is the book I am getting.
